Tuesday 26 June – Thursday 29 June

Open invitation to Families
Visit the Icon of the Holy Family in Navan, from Tuesday 26 June – Friday 29 June schedule is as follows;

7.00pm:  pilgrims are welcomed and invited to walk the prayer-path leading to the icon, and to place their petitions before the icon (these petitions will be given to contemplative communities in Ireland before being brought to the closing Mass with Pope Francis in the Phoenix Park)

8.00pm   evening prayer, with a reflection on the meaning of the icon

8.45pm   refreshments served

Thursday 29 June – Sunday 1 July

The Icon of the Holy Family will be hosted by the Cathedral of Christ the King, Mullingar. Families from the neighbouring deaneries are invited for a time of guided prayer. A Parish Family Day will be held in the grounds of the Cathedral on Sunday 1 July.

Gathering & rehearsals of diocesan singers (SATB) for Congress Mass & Papal Mass

*Tuesday 21 August*

Evening Prayer & WMOF2018 Opening Ceremony with the participation of all parishes and WMOF pilgrim families around the Diocese of Meath. PARISHIONERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND THIS EVENT.

Wednesday 22 August – Friday 24 August

Pastoral Congress in the RDS

Families from parishes across the diocese of Meath are invited to gather for the Pastoral Congress exploring various themes from Wednesday – Friday.

Saturday 25 August

Festival of Families in Croke Park

This evening celebration will feature musical and dance performances illustrating family life around the world. Five selected families from around the world will give witness to their family’s faith and will share their hopes with Pope Francis and all participants.

Sunday 26 August

Papal Mass in the Phoenix Park 3:00pm

Parishes are all encouraged to arrange attendance of families and to prepare a transport plan which includes choir members and families from other countries.

Please note: Attendance at the Pastoral Congress in the RDS is the only way of guaranteeing tickets for the Festival of Families event with Pope Francis in Croke Park on Saturday evening 25 August.

Transportation by bus can be arranged if needed.
