Prayer is being confident in the care and power of God to give us constantly in our lives what he knows is good and valuable for us. We must feel free to ask God for all our needs.
To pray, to listen to Christ, to have time for friendship and for love, to care for justice – all these are ‘the better part’ which our busy world sometimes puts into very secondary places. Not so the gospel.
The message of Jesus can reach all people – through his Church and the Gospel, love and justice can spread to all peoples.
Easter is a promise of God’s peace, the promise of today’s gospel. A peace which is at the depth of all life’s turmoil, a calm beneath every storm.

The death has occurred of Mary Higgins, Michigan U.S.A and formally of Allenstown, Kells Co. Meath at the age of 86. Mary passed away peacefully on the 22nd May, 2025. Predeceased by her father John, mother Catherine and brother Stephen, sisters-in-law Bernadette and May, brother-in-law Eamon.

The call of the risen Lord to love one another is tehe call to all his people to hand on their faith to each other and promote justice in our society.
Today is Good Shepherd Sunday, a day of special prayer for vocations to the work of service in the Church. Jesus died and rose for people of every race and nation. His command to his Church was to go out and preach to all people, we pray for people of faith to respond to that comand.
Jesus assures his disciples that he is risen from the dead and sends them to preach the gospel in his name. He assures us of this too, and we are sent to be his people in our family, among our friends, in all parts of the world.
