Prayer is being confident in the care and power of God to give us constantly in our lives what he knows is good and valuable for us. We must feel free to ask God for all our needs.
To pray, to listen to Christ, to have time for friendship and for love, to care for justice – all these are ‘the better part’ which our busy world sometimes puts into very secondary places. Not so the gospel.
Following Christ is a whole hearted service, a call to leave many of the things we hold dear. He is the centre; all else is secondary.
