SIXTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
It is all too easy to trust in our own possessions- and the more we have the easier it is. But they are all temporary. If we put our trust in the Resurrection and live in its spirit then we shall inherit eternal life.

God in Christ chooses his apostles, men whom the world would think weak, maybe unsuitable, these are the ones he wants for himself. We are called by God even though we may feel unworthy in his sight. That in itself is a sign of God’s grace: it is the way to his kingdom.
Jesus found much rejection of his messages, especially in his own town.
The follower of Jesus will find rejection and even mockery of his message. Those who work for goodness and for justice will experience persecution for their faith and action. we pray to be true to our calling in this gospel.

The coming of Jesus is joyful news for all his people. Our hope at Christmas is to be bearers of his joy.
God’s coming at Christmas is a time for forgiveness for his people. This is also a call to reconciliation among his people.
The end of time is a time of confidence when God will return to his people to call us home to him.
