Through Christ’s own blood we have been forgiven. We did not earn this forgiveness – it is God’s gift to us. We in return must forgive in the same way – not with strings attached, not once only but unconditionally, freely and always.
The death has occurred of Joseph (Joe) Costello Woodlands, Navan, Meath. Formerly Ardbraccan, Navan.
Peacefully at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his parents Michael & Mary, grandson Gary and sister Molly (Fay).
Joe will be very sadly missed by his wife Rita, daughters Rhona, Ruth, Claire, Joanne and Yvette, grandchildren Rachel, Ben, Emily, Eva, Rian, Kajus,
All the laws, customs and regulations of religion have only one end: to love God and our neighbour. Jesus is adamant that love is at the heart of true religion.
Our Christian life will call on us at times to make a decision for or against Jesus, as for the apostles in today’s gospel. We know with him we have the message of the deepest human love we are capable of.
We choose good or evil often in our lives. To follow something good, we reject paths which are less good. Following Christ means saying ‘No’ to other riches. The gospel today is a call to be joyful in giving up our bad habits for Jesus.
